Lu Min

Lu Min is a four-time Myanmar Academy Award winning Burmese actor and director. He has served as the Chairman of the Myanmar Motion Picture Organisation from 2014 to 2017. Throughout his successful career, he acted in over 1000 films.He was born in Aungban in Shan State. In 2008, he and his wife, Khin Sabe Oo became one of the first couples in Myanmar to receive fertility treatment via intracytoplasmic sperm injection. Their daughter Ayeyarwady Lu Min was born later that year. In 2005, he produced and starred in the film Kyan Sit Min, base on the life story of the Pagan era's King Kyansittha, was the first in Burma to be shot on digital video format before being transferred to film, and perhaps the first Burmese movie in recent decades to score commercial success abroad.

Htet Htet Moe Oo (born Hmone Shwe Yi on 8 May 1971) is a two-time Myanmar Academy Award winning Burmese actress, most well known as the "queen of commercials" for her prolific TV commercial appearances during the 1990s to early 2000s. Htet Htet Moe Oo has been legally married thrice; she was previously married to Burmese actor, Min Oo, and was married to Burmese musician Anegga from 2004 to 2008. She married Zu Myat Htet, also known as Sai Lwan, an actor, on 10 August 2010. The two have a daughter, Sit Lun Wadi Htet (b. 2011). In 2012, she was fined 1000 kyats (US$1) by a Yangon court for slapping a 7Day News journalist who asked about her matrimonial affairs during a press event.

History of Myanmar Film

Burma's first film was a recording of the funeral of Tun Shein - a leading politician of the 1910s, who campaigned for Burmese independence in London. It was captured with a second-hand camera by Ohn Maung and was screened at the Royal Cinema, near Scott Market (now Bogyoke Market), which belonged to a Mr Achar, a friend of Ohn Maung. Despite its documentary nature, the Burmese public was very proud of the film, which opened with the notice "Please accept our apologies for the poor quality of the film".
